MALONE — The Ogdensburg Free Academy boys basketball team scored the first 20 points of the game and went on to defeat Malone 87-48 in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game Tuesday night.

Kinnon LaRose led the Blue Devils (11-1 overall, 8-0 division) with 27 points. Matt Piercey scored 17 for OFA. Colin Ross tallied 13 points and Seth Pinkerton tossed in 11. Jordan Yando led Malone (10-3, 6-3) with a 10-point effort.

MASSENA 60, GOUVERNEUR 33

Ryan Haas scored 17 points to pace Massena (9-2, 7-1) in a Central Division win in Gouverneur.

Dante Viskovich added 16 points and Rhoades Tarbell produced 13 for Massena.

Devin Cox and Troy Gates each scored 10 points to pace the Wildcats (4-7, 1-6).

CANTON 58, ST. LAWRENCE 50

Evan LaPoint tallied 32 points and snagged 12 rebounds for the Golden Bears (5-5, 3-5) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Ryan Caldwell scored 15 points for Canton. Josh White scored 28 for the Larries (0-10, 0-8).

SALMON RIVER 56, POTSDAM 50

Kason Tarbell led the Shamrocks (3-5) with 14 points in a Central Division victory in Fort Covington.

Josh Hynes and Zach Smith each scored 10 points for Salmon River.

Nick Vaccaro led the Sandstoners (5-6, 4-4) with 14 points and Jake Mitchell added 11.

ST. REGIS FALLS 53, TUPPER LAKE 37

The Saints built a 31-14 halftime lead and went on to an East Division victory in St. Regis Falls.

Corey LaBounty led St. Regis Falls (12-0, 8-0) with 19 points. Brandon Votra added 14 points for the Saints. Mitch Keniston scored 10 points to lead Tupper Lake (7-5, 5-3).

MADRID-WADDINGTON 40, CHATEAUGAY 35

Jacob Barney, T.J. Gagnon and David Odendahl each scored nine points as Madrid-Waddington (6-4, 5-2) won in Chateaugay. Tyler Jones scored 10 points for the Bulldogs (4-4, 4-2).

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 49, COLTON-PIERREPONT 32

Alex Burnett paced Brushton-Moira (6-6, 4-4) with 15 points and Bryan Aubrey added 14 in an East Division win in Colton.

Zach Farr led the Colts (3-8, 2-6) with 10 points.

MORRISTOWN 47, HARRISVILLE 39

Devin Dulmage scored 14 points to help Morristown (6-2, 5-2) capture a West Division game in Harrisville.

Ryan Vollmer added 13 points for the Green Rockets. Tim Fowler led Harrisville (6-4, 4-2) with 16 points and Brandon Best added 15.

EDWARDS-KNOX 75, HAMMOND 46

Kaden Dandrow surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career in the third quarter and finished with 34 points as Harrisville (6-4, 5-2) defeated Hammond in a West Division game in Russell.

Dan Pharoah tallied 16 points and Jeremiah Randall added 15 for the Cougars. Payton Frisina led Hammond (3-7, 2-6) with 14 points and Zech Cunningham added 13.

HEUVELTON 56, CLIFTON-FINE 13

Jeff Arquitt scored 10 points to help the Bulldogs (5-5, 4-2) to a win in a West Division game in Heuvelton. Clifton-Fine fell to 0-9 and 0-7.

LISBON 48, HERMON-DEKALB 32

A 17-point effort from Jim Robinson helped Lisbon (9-1, 7-0) prevail in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction. Donnie Duprey added 10 for the Golden Knights.

Trevor Rolfe led the Demons (2-10, 1-7) with 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MALONE 52, OFA 41

Meagan O’Connor scored 16 points and Rachel Lamica grabbed 13 rebounds as Malone (10-0, 8-0) claimed a Central Division game in Ogdensburg.

Morgan Fountain scored 14 points for Malone. Megan Dodge scored 13 points and Riley Luckie added 10 for OFA (6-5, 5-3).

INDIAN RIVER 45, CARTHAGE 21

Kammikia Barnes and Emma Bonk each scored 10 points during the Warriors’ “A” Division victory at Carthage.

Kelsi Nabywaniec and Barnes grabbed seven rebounds apiece, while Ashlynn Borce handed out four assists, and Sarah Mattingly made four steals for Indian River (8-3, 6-2).

Carthage is 6-4, 4-2.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 41, WATERTOWN 29

The Spartans pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a crossover win at Adams as Austin Stevens scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Hannah Bassett added 10 points for South Jefferson (7-0), which led just 27-21 after three quarters.

Hannah Levine and Katie Aldrich paced the Cyclones (5-7, 3-5) with 10 points apiece.

ALEXANDRIA 47, BEAVER RIVER 27

Lorraine Beard scored 26 points as the Purple Ghosts beat the Beavers in a crossover game in Beaver Falls.

Hannah Lynch added 12 points for Alexandria (4-5, 3-5).

Sierra Neddo paced Beaver River (3-6) with 12 points.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 48, SACKETS HARBOR 21

Ashley Anchor scored 17 points and handed out four assists as the Vikings remained unbeaten with a crossover win at Clayton.

Kali Eyles contributed 11 points and nine rebounds for Thousand Islands (9-0, 7-0).

Jenna Fields led the Patriots (4-6, 4-2) with 13 points.

LYME 76, SANDY CREEK 12

Yanna Ososkalo scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to go with eight assists and five steals as the Indians routed the Comets in a crossover game at Chaumont.

Enesa Ososkalo and Allison Tarwater scored 19 points apiece for Lyme (9-2, 5-2). Ososkalo added nine rebounds and six steals, Tarwater drained five 3-pointers and Emily Ennis hauled in 10 rebounds for the Indians.

Sandy Creek fell to 0-9, 0-8.

SOUTH LEWIS 34, LAFARGEVILLE 25

Miranda Rys and Jenna Rogers scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Falcons past the Red Knights in a crossover game at Turin.

Alexis Olmstead hauled in a team-high eight rebounds for South Lewis (2-6, 2-4).

Amber Klock scored 14 points for LaFargeville (1-9, 1-6).

WRESTLING

gouverneur 71, malone 15

The Wildcats captured 12 of 15 matches, including four by pinfall, to earn a Northern Athletic Conference victory at Gouverneur.

Zach Forsythe (145 pounds), Aaron Bush (138), Joey Bush (132) and Robyn Carr (113) recorded pins for Gouverneur (7-2, 4-0).

Cameron Searles won by pin for Malone (1-10, 0-5).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 56, IHC 21

The Spartans won five matches by forfeit, two by pin and two by technical fall in their interdivision victory over the host Cavaliers.

Logan Nichols notched a pin in 36 seconds in the 170-pound match to highlight the win for South Jefferson (13-2, 2-0).

Nick Koelmel captured a 12-0 decision at 152 for Immaculate Heart Central (2-6, 2-4).

BOYS SWIMMING

GOUVERNEUR 92, SOUTH LEWIS 79

Alex Deon captured the 200 and 500 freestyles and contributed to the first-place 200 free relay to lead the Wildcats to a “B” Division victory at Turin.

Spencer Knowles (100 fly), Luke Dunkelberg (50 free) and Mark Dunkelberg (100 free) each won a race and swam legs on the winning relay for Gouverneur (3-4).

Patrick Pominville claimed the 100 backstroke, took second in the 50 free and was a part of two winning relays for South Lewis (2-4).

LOWVILLE 53, BEAVER RIVER 32

Collin Stewart claimed the 50 and 100 freestyles and swam on the first-place 200 medley relay to help the Red Raiders to a “B” Division victory at Beaver Falls.

Nathan Munger took the 100 butterfly and contributed to a relay win for Lowville (6-2).

Joel Kloster and Keihin Lee were a part of two relay victories for Beaver River (1-5).
