PARISHVILLE State police arrested a Parishville man Wednesday night after he allegedly entered a Benson Road home claiming to look for a resident who didnt live there and stole items from the house.
Police charged Francis T. Green, 36, of 81B Pumpkin Hill Road, with second-degree burglary, a felony.
Police said Kristen Wilkie, 25, was in her bedroom at 151 Benson Road when she heard bags rustling outside her door. Thinking it was a housemate, police said, Ms. Wilkie opened her door and saw a man she did not recognize, later identified as Green, coming out of a room next to hers. Green allegedly asked Ms. Wilkie, who shares the house with several roommates, where a resident in the home was.
She told him no one by that name lived there, and Mr. Green indicated he was in the wrong house, police said.
Ms. Wilkies housemate, Connor Otero, 17, was alerted of the alleged intruder when he returned home and reported items, which police did not identify, missing from his room when he called police 9:38 p.m.
Green was taken into custody at the Madrid Health Clinic. He was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
