PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Frank K. Benedict, 30, of School Road, Cornwall Island, Ont., with four counts of petit larceny after he allegedly shoplifted bottles of cologne on four different occasions in a two and a half hour stretch Jan. 11 from the duty free store in Rooseveltown. Court documents report Benedict allegedly shoplifted a bottle of Ed Hardy cologne valued at $60 at 6:04 p.m., a bottle of Ed Hardy cologne valued at $75 at 6:35 p.m., two bottles of Ed Hardy cologne valued at $150 at 7:23 p.m. and a bottle of CK cologne valued at $44 at 8:27 p.m. Benedict was taken into custody Thursday at the Rooseveltown port of entry, arraigned by Massena Town Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $400 cash or $800 bond.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Canton-based state police charged Douglas C. Parks, 63, of Potsdam with two counts of petit larceny after responding to a shoplifting complaint at 2:28 p.m. Thursday at the Potsdam Walmart.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MASSENA - State police responded to a number of property damage accidents Thursday around the region. Among those:

■ James Lynden Farmer, 46, of St. Regis Falls at 11:13 a.m. on Water Street, near County Route 51, in the town of Hopkinton.

■ Timothy R. Colbert, 22, of Potsdam at 4:05 p.m. on Route 11, near state Route 420, in the town of Stockholm.

■ Cassandra M. Clark, 20, of North Lawrence at 4:10 p.m. on Route 11, near state Route 420, in the town of Stockholm.
