CLAYTON — The Thousand Islands Arts Center has named Leslie W. Rowland its new executive director, effective Jan. 1.

She had served as interim director of the nonprofit since June.

Ms. Rowland’s previous experience includes principal of LWRPR LLC, an independent consulting firm, and district director for Rep. Sherwood L. Boehlert. She also served as public relations manager for regional and international airlines, and as a lobbyist for the Air Transport Association. The former account executive and business development manager is a native of Rome.

According to a recent news release, she graduated from SUNY Potsdam and has spent summers on Wellesley Island, but lives in Clayton with her husband, Fritz Hager, and their twin teenagers during the winter.
