The Brian Wade Junior Memorial Boys Hockey Tournament will face off tonight at 6 p.m. at the Golden Dome Arena with teams from four sections of New York State participating.

Defending champion OFA meets Saranac Lake of Section 7 in the faceoff game tonight at 6 p.m. followed by a matchup between Baldwinsville of Section 3 and McQuaid Jesuit of Rochester (Section 6).

On Saturday, Friday’s winners will advance into a 2:30 p.m. championship game after the losers play in a 12:30 p.m. consolation game.

The tournament will carry a very heavy local flavor. Pat Wade, the brother of the late Brian Wade Jr., serves as an assistant coach for the McQuaid squad and Glenn McCaffrey, another former OFA standout, is an assistant coach for the Baldwinsville squad and his son Luke McCaffrey is a senior defenseman.

Saranac Lake also features a local connection in senior forward Chris Spicer who is the son of WSLB 1400 Sports Broadcaster Chris Spicer.
