The Salvation Armys Red Kettle campaign in the Sandy Creek-Lacona area was extremely successful this year.
We would like to thank Sally and the entire staff of Sandy Creek Tops for generously providing us with a location to set up our Red Kettle and for the awesome support they provided to our bell ringers. Thank you also to the staff of NBT Bank in Pulaski for their patience in counting the many rolls of wrapped coins that we took in, and for graciously writing the checks to the Salvation Army for us for no fee.
We were fortunate to have many groups that provided bell ringers for us. The groups included the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, the United Wesleyan Church, Cable Trail Auxiliary No. 8534, Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club and the Little Comets indoor soccer team. Groups also ringing were the Sandy Creek Elementary Student Council, Sandy Creek teachers and Sandy Creek Support Staff.
Thanks to Pat and Terry Rossman for arranging to have Santa and Mrs. Claus take a turn at bell ringing for the Red Kettle. Special thanks to Jim Ballou, Tom Gregg, Damion West and the Metott brothers who covered many bell ringing hours in all kinds of weather conditions.
The money raised through this project will be available to aid community members and may also generate additional funds through grants. A special thanks to all of you who so generously reached into your pockets and your hearts to help others.
