SYRACUSE The Syracuse University football team added four players to its official 2014 roster and announced dates for its annual spring practices on Friday.
Wide receiver Corey Cooper, quarterback A.J. Long, defensive tackle Wayne Williams and tight end Cameron MacPherson are enrolled for the spring semester and will participate in practices and workouts with the team.
SUs annual spring practice is scheduled to run from March 18 through April 19, concluding with the Oranges annual spring game in the Carrier Dome.
Cooper signed with Syracuse last February but spent the fall semester at Jireh Prep School due to academic issues. He is a 6-foot, 190-pound slot receiver that was rated a three-star prospect last year.
Williams is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound interior lineman from Brooklyn who was also set to join the team in 2013 but did not qualify academically.
Long is a dual-threat quarterback from Tennessee who rates as a three-star player.
MacPherson transferred to SU from Georgetown and is the brother of 2013 Syracuse captain, center Macky MacPherson. He played quarterback at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse until graduating in 2011.
