Trooper, other driver injured in Oswego County accident

SCRIBA — State police are investigating an accident involving a state trooper whose patrol car was struck by another vehicle Monday afternoon at Middle Road and County Route 29 in the town of Scriba, Oswego County.

Trooper Eric Parsons was traveling east on Middle Road shortly before 1 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop sign, state police said. A 2004 Pontiac, driven by Penny A. Morehouse, 48, Redwood, was headed north on County Route 29 and struck the patrol car on the passenger’s side.

Both vehicles went off the northeast corner of the intersection and came to rest in an open field.

Trooper Parsons, a 28-year veteran, was taken to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, for treatment of a minor facial scrape and lower back pain. Ms. Morehouse also was taken to Upstate, for treatment of left hip and chest pain.

The investigation is continuing.
