Lewis County Bridal Show back and in new venue after hiatus

LOWVILLE — The Lewis County Bridal Show is back this weekend after a one-year hiatus.

And, after six years at the Lowville Elks Lodge, the 2014 edition will be held in a different location: the new conference room at the Ridgeview Inn, 6912 Bardo Road.

Attendees at this year’s bridal show, slated for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, will get a “chance to see a brand new venue” from past years, said Connie J. Noftsier, an event organizer and owner of All Things Beautiful Photography.

Mrs. Noftsier said the new conference room will be decorated to the hilt, courtesy of her co-organizer, Helen Johnson of R&H Creations.

“She decorates it as if it’s a wedding,” she said. “It’s a really nice room.”

Last year’s show was canceled because of a scheduling conflict with many vendors, but Mrs. Noftsier said she is hopeful for a solid turnout at the upcoming event.

The 2014 show will feature at least a dozen vendors offering a variety of services, including catering, photographers, decorators, florists, DJ services, location venues, a photo booth, personal grooming and even weight-loss assistance.

“Brides could easily have many details for their weddings booked and taken care of in this one-day event,” a release on the bridal show said.

Mrs. Noftsier said she hopes the event will help some soon-to-be brides ease preparations for their big days.

“That would be a successful day,” she said.

Door prizes will be given out, with drawings likely happening twice per hour, Mrs. Noftsier said.

Vendors still have time to sign up for booth space at the show.
