Lewis legislators to discuss Snirt Run issues

LOWVILLE — The Lewis County Board of Legislators’ Economic Development Committee has scheduled a fact-finding meeting concerning recreation in Lewis County for 6 p.m. today in the legislative chambers at the County Courthouse, 7660 N. State St.

Gary R. Stinson, Barnes Corners Sno-Pals president, said, “Legislator Larry Dolhof was at the Montague town board meeting on Sunday and said they scheduled the meeting to go over Snirt Run issues.”

Mr. Stinson said he confirmed the purpose of the meeting with Legislative Chairman Michael A. Tabolt, R-Croghan, and informed him he would be in attendance.

Legislators in December discussed the possibility of charging a $5 fee to Snirt Run participants, in addition to the regular $10 entry fee, to defray the cost of police patrols and potential damage from the event. The meeting is open to the public.
