Rosemary A. McKinney, 81, 223 Iroquois Avenue West, passed away January 20, 2014 at Samaritan Medical Center.
Born August 10, 1932, in Watertown, NY the daughter of the late Nicholas L. and Sarah DeCarlo Grant. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1950. On October 18, 1958 she married Edward P. McKinney at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown, NY with Reverend Benoit Dostie officiating.
She was employed by Sears Roebuck and Company as head cashier and assistant payroll clerk until her marriage. She then raised her children until 1978 when she became employed by St. Patricks Church as a secretary, and then school secretary until her retirement in 1997.
Mrs. McKinney was a communicant of St. Patricks Church, a fifty eight year member of the American Legion Post 61 Auxiliary, the Sisters of the Precious Blood Auxiliary and former treasurer of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives; Gregory E. and Lesley, Watertown, Gary G. and Joanne, Dexter, a daughter and her spouse, Laura Jo and Paul Mikoliatis, Cummington, Mass., three grandchildren, Christopher, Colleen and Taylor, two brothers, Vince and Joan Grant, Pottstown, PA, Jasper and Karen Grant, Watertown, two sisters, Josephine Grant, Watertown, Patricia and Art Williams, Lexington, VA, several nieces and nephews. Two brothers pre-deceased her; Gregory and Paul Grant.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading and trips to the casino.
Calling hours will be held Thursday 4-7pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:15 am at the funeral home with a 10 am funeral mass at St. Patricks Church with Reverend Donald Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
