SYRACUSE — The Atlantic Coast Conference revealed its football schedule for next season on Wednesday and Syracuse University will play eight bowl teams from 2013.

SU will begin conference play on Oct. 3 by hosting former Big East rival Louisville.

The home schedule includes conference games with defending national champion Florida State (Oct. 11), North Carolina State (Nov. 1), and Duke (Nov. 8).

SU will travel to conference games at Wake Forest (Oct. 18), Clemson (Oct. 25), Pittsburgh (Nov. 22) and its regular season finale at Boston College (Nov. 29).

Already announced were non-conference home games against Villanova (Aug. 30 season opener) and Maryland (Sept. 20). They will play at Central Michigan (Sept. 13) and face Notre Dame in New York’s College Classic at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Sept. 27.

SU’s spring practice begins on March 18 and ends with the annual spring game on April 19.

n Defending national football champion Florida State will have marquee matchups against Oklahoma State, Clemson, Notre Dame and Louisville before rivalry games against Florida and Miami in 2014.

n Bobby Petrino will make his 2014 Louisville coaching debut in a Labor Day matchup against Miami that also kicks off the Cardinals’ participation in the ACC.
