NORFOLK - The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently chose the Students of the Month for the month October. The students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Jennette Bush is the freshman student of the month for October. She is the daughter of Heather and Ray Bush of Norfolk. She enjoys sports and music. Jeannette loves music and learning to play instruments. She also enjoys golf and basketball. Jennette participates in track, Key Club, and band. Jennette’s plans for the future include going to college and then later moving to England.

Leah Livernois is the sophomore student of the month for October. She is the daughter of Carrie and Glenn Livernois. Leah enjoys running indoor/outdoor track, cross country, playing the trumpet, writing, reading, and skiing. Leah also has a love for animals. She participates in Jazz Band, Science Club, key Club, Varsity Club, Band, All County, Cross Country, and Indoor/Outdoor Track. Leah hopes earn a degree in engineering, become a civil engineer and later to become an engineering professor. She wants to contribute to the science/math world while continuing to stay physically active.

Edona Hadzovic is the junior student of the month. She is the daughter of Cena and Alketa Hadzovic of Norfolk. Edona enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, reading, hiking, and music. She participates in Key Club, Varsity Club, Vice President of Spanish Club, and National Junior Honor Society. Edona plans for the future include traveling, and going to college to become a PA in dermatology.

Cadence Hunkins is the senior student of the month. She is the daughter of Jonathan and Christine Hunkins of Norwood. She enjoys horseback riding, music, basketball, and having a good time with friends and family. She plays on the varsity basketball team and runs varsity track and field. Cadence is member of Jazz Band, National Honor Society, and Key Club. Her future plans are to go SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry to major in Conservation Biology to become an environmental scientist, dealing with different areas that are affected by global warming.

Each student that was chosen received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smith’s of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

Also, the Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
