ASSAULT - NORTH LAWRENCE - Massena-based state police charged two men with assault Thursday following an investigation into a early morning bar fight Saturday at The JugTavern, Route 11C, North Lawrence.

Troopers charged Branden S. Arquiett, 25, of Massena with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and Isiah J. Brothers, 28, of Winthrop with third-degree assault.

Arquiett threw a beer bottle at Brothers, striking him and causing injury to his face and teeth, troopers said.

Brothers then reportedly attacked Arquiett and repeatedly struck him in the head and face, causing multiple soft tissue injuries. Arquiett was transported by Tr-Town Rescue to Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Arquiett was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.

Brothers was issued an appearance ticket for Feb. 4 in town of Lawrence Court.



AGGRAVATED DWI - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Gail A. Goodenough, 62, of Massena with aggravated driving while intoxicated at 1 a.m. Thursday after responding to a report of a possible intoxicated operator on state Route 37 in the Town of Massena. She was also ticketed for drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, unsafe backing and failure to keep right.

Her blood alcohol content was reportedly 0.20 percent. A DWI charge is elevated to the ore serious offense of aggravated DWI when the blood alcohol content is 0.18 percent or higher.



MARIJUANA POSSESSION - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Kody J. Bingham, 22, of Fort Covington was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 3:55 p.m. Thursday following a traffic stop in the town of Massena. He was additionally ticketed for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle and operation of a vehicle with insufficient tail lamps. Also charged was Eric J. Sisto, 21, of Fort Covington. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.



PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT - MOIRA - Malone-based state police said one person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 11:57 p.m. Thursday on County Route 1 at County Route 2 in the town of Moira. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Kelly A. McDonald, 45, of Moira.



ONE INJURED - DICKINSON - Malone-based state police said one person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 3:02 p.m. Thursday on Doug Smith Road, near Route 11B, in the town of Dickinson. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Steven J. Shantie, 25, of St. Regis Falls.



PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police investigated a number of property damage accidents around the region on Thursday. Among those:

■ Ivan L. Thompson, 38, of Akwesasne, Ont., and Donald E. Chapman, 67, of Fort Covington at 10:02 a.m. on County Route 1 at County Route 2 in the town of Bombay.
