GOUVERNEUR - Entering the home stretch of the season while firing on all cylinders, OFA bolted out to a 22-4 lead against Gouverneur and cruised to an 64-41 NAC Central Girls Basketball victory.

“The girls played really well tonight. Riley Luckie did a great job running the offense and we finished very well,” said OFA Coach Lynn Blevins after the 8-5 Devils lifted their NAC Central mark to 7-3 for next Friday’s game at Canton.

“Taylor Perry had one of her best games of the year and it was great to see Taylor and Erin Tooley step up their roles in the victory.”

Perry passed out a team-high four assists while scoring seven points and Tooley (2 points) grabbed six rebounds. Luckie netted three threes in scoring a game-high 19 points while Meg Dodge buried two threes in a 17 point-eight rebound effort.

Courtney Sherwin was very active inside delivering nine points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks, Susie Morrow netted eight points and Danielle Guimond added two.

Rebecca Bulsiewcz and Danielle Bullock led Gouverneur with 11 and eight points and Alicia Way added six.

OFA also won the junior varsity game.

In the other Central games, Canton downed Massena 54-39 and St. Lawrence Central rolled past Potsdam 57-47.

Canton 54, Massena 39: At the Massena High School gym, the Lady Golden Bears outscored the Lady Raiders 16-3 in the second quarter and relayed a 26-11 halftime lead into the win. Tori Daley anchored a balanced Canton (11-3, 9-2) offense with 16 points while grabbing five rebounds and handing out three assists. Kali Frank generated 15 points, five steals and six rebounds. Natalie DiSalvo came off the bench to produce seven points and three assists.

Senior forward Samanntha Villnave worked the paint for a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Raiders (4-8, 3-5).

SLC 57, Potsdam 47: In Brasher Falls, the Lady Larries reversed a 25-22 halftime deficit, sealing the win with a 23-15 fourth-quarter run. Lindsey Thayer tossed through a game-high 21 points followed by Bailee Gauthier with 15 as the Lady Larries evened their overall record to 6-6 while improved to 4-5 in the division.

For Potsdam (1-12, 0-10), Bre Sapp tallied a team-high 13 points followed by Sarah Vivlamore with 12.
