Adam Rickett knew he had to have a pin and his climatic 138-pound bout ended with Massenas Gavin Perrine holding off the Devil grapplers determined attempt for a pinning combination. Rickett secured a 7-3 win but Perrines ability to avoid a pin or a major decision produced a precious 36-36 tie.
A tie which was broken in the first criteria where Massena prevailed 37-36 by virtue of a 4-3 edge in pins.
Adam Rickett knew he needed a pin and came close. Coach Mitchell always lets us know if we need a pin to win. We really wanted get a win for coach, he means a lot to us, said OFA senior Alex Cole after the match where Massena climbed to 5-1 on the season and dropped OFA to 2-3.
