ITHACA — Matt Carey scored the tying goal while on the power play with 3:18 remaining in regulation and Matt Weninger stopped a penalty shot in overtime as St. Lawrence University’s men’s hockey team forged a 4-4 tie with No. 12 Cornell on Friday night in ECAC Hockey play to halt its losing streak at seven games.

Jeremy Wick also scored a power-play for the Saints (8-12-3, 2-6-3), which also snapped a six-game skid in the conference by earning their first point overall since Nov. 29 in a 5-2 win at North Dakota.

Brian Ward and Alex Dahl each scored within a span of 24 seconds in the first period for St. Lawrence, which came back from deficits of 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 to earn the point and also end a six-game losing skid at Cornell.

Christian Hilbrich scored two goals for the Big Red (9-4-5, 5-3-3), who extended their unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3).
