The Sackets Harbor Vocal Arts Ensemble invites singers to join the group in rehearsals for a concert of American music. Rehearsals begin on Monday, Feb. 3. The concert will be on Sunday, May 4.
The ensemble, founded and directed by Richard E. Probert of Sackets Harbor, started in Sackets Harbor and has grown into a major regional chorus. The group rehearses and performs at Trinity Episcopal Church, 227 Sherman St., Watertown.
The May concert will feature selections ranging from the Star-Spangled Banner and a variety of spirituals to works of such major American composers as Aaron Copland and Randall Thompson. The singers will be accompanied by a full orchestra.
Rehearsals will be held at 7 p.m. every Monday at Trinity. Singers are asked to arrive at the first rehearsal (Feb. 3) at 6:30 p.m. to register and pick up their music. There is a fee of $20. For more information, contact Sue Snell at 782-8235.
