The Alaska chapter of the American Association of School Administrators recently honored Michael Kampnich, a school board member from Craig, with the MacKinnon Education Excellence and Human Recognition Award for 2013. The award recognizes one school board member from across the state who has provided meritorious service to his school district and community.
Mr. Kampnich, a former Watertown resident, has served on the board for 13 years. He was nominated by his colleagues on the board of the Craig City School District.
Mr. Kampnich was presented the award at the associations annual conference in Anchorage on Nov. 9.
