Retired priest wins Trinity Truck Fundraiser

MASSENA — The winner of this year’s Trinity Truck Raffle plans to make a donation back to Trinity Catholic School.

The Rev. John Hunt, a retired priest who now lives in Florida, had the choice between a 2014 Dodge Ram sponsored by Blevins Seaway Motors, valued at $30,000, or $25,000 cash. The Rev. Mr. Hunt chose the cash prize, and members of the Trinity Catholic Fundraising Committee said he plans to make a donation to the school.

The winning name was drawn following a recent Mass at Sacred Heart Church.

The 7,000 tickets available for the annual fundraiser were distributed to Trinity Catholic School families and available for sale from Nov. 29 through December. Approximately 6,700 tickets were sold last year.

The raffle began in 1995 to raise money for Trinity Catholic School. Money raised represents a large portion of the school’s annual budget.
