St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center recently participated in the 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. food drive.

This food drive is coordinated through the Office of Diversity Planning and Compliance and is a component of New York State’s Dr. Martin Luther KingJr. Memorial Observance.

Food drive coordinator Cortney Delosh said St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center staff members embrace the event annually as an opportunity to give back to the community and promote hunger awareness.

“We invite and encourage people to donate in their community as well,” she said.“We need your hands and your hearts to help those who cannot always help themselves.”

Dr. King was passionate about turning concern into action and devoted his life’s work to making the world a better place to live for everyone. SLPC employees collected 385.5 pounds of food to donate among Ogdensburg, Massena, and Gouverneur food pantries.
