Black Lake Derby enjoys 46th edition


The Black Lake Fish and Game Association enjoyed a turnout of 126 for its 46th annual Ice Fishing Derby last Saturday.

Top entries and winners of cash prizes follow.

Northern Pike: 1st – Mike Spriggs with 35 ” 12.03 lb. 2nd – Tiff Hudson with 33 ” 8.69 lb. 3rd – Charles Rogers with 30” 7.88 lb.

Walleye: 1st. – James Simpson with 29 1/8” 11.77 lb. 2nd – Jeramiah Jessman with 29” 11.49 lb.3rd – Patrick Laidlaw with 16 7/8” 1.61 lb.

Panfish: 1st – Eric Sanford with a 14” 1.66 lb. Crappie. 2nd – Dave McNamara with a 12 7/8” 1.22 lb. Crappie. 3rd – Denise Congleton with a 11 ” 1.27 lb. Crappie

Junior Panfish: 1st – Wyatt Slate 12 ” 1.3 lb. Perch. 2rd – Ethan Mcderid 12 1/8” 1.13 lb. 3rd – Nicholas Fenton 11 7/8” .88 lb.
