Morley: Florence Seavey Noel, 89 of Morley Bucks Bridge Road, passed away on Jan. 31, 2014 at Maplewood Campus in Canton. Friends and family may be received on Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2014) from 11-2 P.M followed by a service at 2 P.M. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Madrid. Florence was born on June 17, 1924 in Owego, NY the daughter of Stanley and Elma (Warner) Thornton. She married Arnold Seavey on August 22, 1942 in Spragueville with Rev. Daisy Harvey officiating. Arnold predeceased her on Oct. 23, 1978. Florence and Arnold operated a dairy farm on the Morley Bucks Bridge Road for 32 years. She later married Clifford Noel on July 18, 1981, who predeceased her on August 9, 1986. Florence was a 4-H leader and enjoyed doing needlework, making crafts, reading, bird watching and tending to her flowers. She loved going to garage sales and being out in nature. Florence also enjoyed spending winters in Holiday, FL. She is survived by her 5 children; Joseph and Joan Seavey of Canton, NY, Jon and Marie Seavey of Gloucester, VA, Judith Aldrich of Fowler, NY, Joyce Pike and Frank Shipp of Ballston Lake, NY, Joan and Jon Aldrich of Canton, NY, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a brother Howard and Juanita Thornton of Portland, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by a granddaughter Jennifer Seavey, brothers Gerald Thornton and Gordon Thornton, and a sister Bernice Kyer Smith. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Florences name to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Highway 11 Potsdam, NY 13676.
