Senior Night victories are always special.

On Monday night, OFA (10-5, 8-4 NAC Central) registered a 60-36 Senior Night win over Potsdam which Coach Lynn Blevins felt was extra special in terms of momentum toward the Section 10 Class B Tournament.

Significant because the Lady Devils used a very effective person-to-person defense against the Stoners, who possess two all-star caliber players in Sarah Vivlamore and Breanne Sapp, and anchored the winning offense around smooth interior passing and high efficiency in the fastbreak.

“Our ball movement was excellent again tonight and that is one area where we have improved a great deal over the course of the season,” said Blevins after the Devils started a three-game final week of the NAC Central season.

“Potsdam has two outstanding players in Bre Sapp and Sarah Vivlamore and we worked very hard against them on defense.”

Before the game seniors Meg Dodge, Brooke Badlam and Paige Perry and their parents were honored in a Senior Day ceremony before the final regularly scheduled regular season game. The Lady Devils will be home again tonight hosting Salmon River in a makeup game and will conclude the regular season on Thursday at Massena. The OFA court and ice arena will be abuzz with action this week.
