POTSDAM Potsdam native John Coleman received Liberty League Performer of the Week honors on Monday after he surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career over the weekend.
Coleman, a junior, averaged 19.5 points per game in Clarkson University victories over Rochester Institute of Technology and Hobart. He also averaged 6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals on the weekend.
Coleman moved to 16th on the all-time Clarkson scoring list with his performance against Hobart. His 15.45 career scoring average is the third highest for a Golden Knights player in 40 years.
St. Lawrence Universitys Kara McDuffie was named the leagues top performer for womens basketball. McDuffie, a junior, set a career high with 28 points in a win over RIT. The Saints Caroline Dalton was named rookie of the week. Clarksons Ashley Loggins made the honor roll.
St. Lawrence squash player Duncan Maxwell also won performer of the week honors, as did SLU indoor track and field athletes Chris Payton and Divya Biswal. The Saints Alex Blake received top rookie honors in mens swimming.
