AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Edward J. Slade, 22, of 34 Center St., Massena, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct following a traffic stop at 12:24 a.m. Friday on Ames Street. Police said Slade was a passenger in a vehicle being operated by Hannah L. Hayden, 22, of Beach Street, Massena, when she was stopped and ticketed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 11:55 p.m. Thursday on Ames Street. Slade reportedly moved into the driver’s seat and drove away from that stop before being stopped by police. He reportedly became unruly during the second traffic stop.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael B. Middlemiss, 24, of 3635 County Route 14, Madrid, and Becky L. Harris, 30, of 3734 County Route 14, Madrid, with petit larceny at 9:34 p.m. Thursday after responding to a shoplifting complaint at the Massena Walmart. They reportedly walked past the store’s last point of sale without paying for $12.96 worth of merchandise.
