CANTON St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies on Friday charged James I. Farmer, 26, Brooklyn, as a fugitive from justice in Pennsylvania.
Deputies said Mr. Farmer is wanted by authorities from the state on charges of violating his probation sentence on robbery charges.
Sheriff Kevin M. Wells said his office had been notified by Pennsylvania several weeks ago about Mr. Farmer, who was an inmate at Gouverneur Correctional Facility. Deputies had a warrant issued and arrested him as he was released from the prison.
He was arraigned in Canton Town Court and was sent to St. Lawrence County jail, where he is being held without bail awaiting extradition proceedings in County Court.
