The Colton-Pierrepont varsity boys and girls basketball teams and the Madrid-Waddington Girls fashioned victories on Thursday.
BOYS BEAT HAMMOND
In an NAC interdivisional game played in Hammond, the visiting Colts relayed a 20-9 halftime lead into a 47-37 decision over the Red Devils.
John Angleberger led all scorers with 14 points in the the winning effort. Zach Farr added 11 followed by Ethan Knight with 10, Riley Doyle with nine and Scott Boyce with three.
Brock Tulley paced Hammond with 13 points. Payton Frisina added 11 followed by Nick Jewett with eight.
The Colts are slated to close out the regular season on the road tonight against unbeaten East Division rival St. Regis Falls.
GIRLS STOP SRF
In an NAC East girls game at Colton, the host Lady Colts built a 23-11 halftime lead then put the game out of reach with a 25-16 fourth-quarter surge. Morgan Doyle tossed through a career-high 34 points, including a pair of three-pointers, in the winning effort. Courtney Marsh chipped in 11 points followed by Eve Whalen with 10, Haylee Hennessy with seven and Andrea Aldous with two.
Madison Greenwood and Jenna Susice anchored the Lady Saints scoring with 12 points apiece. Brianah Work added 11 and Nikki Martinez accounted for the other five.
OTHER EAST GIRLS
In the other NAC East Division girls basketball games played on Thursday, Madrid-Waddington outscored Brushton-Moira 50-36 and Tupper Lake turned back Parishville-Hopkinton 29-22.
M-W 50, B-M 36: In Brushton, the Lady Yellowjackets overcame a 14-7 first-quarter deficit with a 7-1 second-quarter run before going on to outscore the host Lady Panthers 36-21 after halftime and improve to 11-1 in the division and 13-1 overall. Tess Knight and Olivia Parmeter anchored the winning effort with 14 points apiece. Jenny King contributed nine points followed by Desiree Pruce with six, Kennedy Murray with three and Mary Young with two.
Meg Martin led the way for the Lady Panthers (9-6, 9-4) with 10 points. Arielle Gary added nine points followed by Micaela McCarthy with seven, Jenna Dufrane with five, Barrett with four and Kenzie Traynor with one.
Tupper Lake 29, P-H 22: At Tupper Lake, the Lumberjacks reversed a 17-15 halftime deficit with a 10-2 third-quarter run before going on to drop the Lady Panthers. Katie Zurek tallied eight points and 10 rebounds in the winning effort. Lindsey Maroun added six points followed by Sidney Kulzer with five. Amie Luton and Lizzie Zurek (12 rebounds) chipped in four points each while Mallorie McLear accounted for the other two.
Nicole White led all scorers with 10 points, including the only three three-pointers of the game, in the losing cause. Cassara Cole added six followed by Kodi Perkins with three and Miranda Collins with two.
OTHER EAST BOYS
The lone NAC East boys basketball game played Thursday saw Tupper Lake beat Parishville-Hopkinton 61-28. Mitch Keniston netted a game-high 20 points as the Lumberjacks steadily pulled away to a commanding 40-16 halftime lead. Cody LaPierre added 11 points followed by Anson Gagnier with 10.
Hunter Charleson led the Panthers with eight points. Kobe Wells chipped in seven. Mike Burns and Wyatt Snell contributed four points each followed by Ryan Snyder with two while Connor Sullivan and Garrett Hayes both netted solo free throws.
