Dunkin Donuts and Ogdensburg Bowl in discussion about small land sale

A small sliver of land owned by Ogdensburg Bowl may be sold off to enable the planned Dunkin Donuts restaurant to offer more parking.

David T. Smith, owner of Ogdensburg Bowl, said the sale is currently under negotiation.

“It’s in the process,” he said. “Nothing is definite yet.”

Mr. Smith said he isn’t sure when the negotiations will be completed.

The land constitutes a small triangle that would give the restaurant five more parking spaces, additional room for loading and unloading products and a better location for their dumpsters according to plans submitted to the Ogdensburg Planning Board.

The restaurant, which will be the 86th Dunkin Donuts franchise owned by a company based in Portland, Maine, is set to have construction begin in April.

The main entrance for the restaurant will be on Paterson Street across from McDonald’s.

At Tuesday’s planning board meeting the modified plans submitted by Dunkin Donuts for approval were given unanimous support.

Board Member Frank Perretta said the adjustments would make the overall proposal better.

Under the plan the new parking spots would largely be used for employee parking.

With the additional parking spaces the store will have a total of 18 spaces. The restaurant will employ 15 people.
