MIDDLETOWN, Conn. St. Lawrence University freshman Moustafa Bayoumy completed an undefeated regular season as the Saints mens squash team swept Wesleyan. 9-0, in the teams regular-season finale on Sunday.
Bayoumy swept Mike DeLalio 11-2, 11-7, 11-1 in the first singles as St. Lawrence (11-3) did not drop a set. The fourth-ranked Saints have only three losses in 14 matches this season, with the setbacks coming against Trinity (Conn,), Harvard and Yale, which are ranked above SLU.
St. Lawrence will compete in the College Squash Association national team championships Friday-Sunday in Cambridge, Mass.
■ Valarie Quan provided a key win as the St. Lawrence womens squash team edged Wesleyan, 5-4, in the final match of the regular season Sunday at Middletown, Conn.
Quan beat Abigail Smith 11-4, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7 in the seventh singles match to stop the Cardinals rally. St. Lawrence (3-8) had won the first four matches.
The Saints will take in part in the womens CSA team championships this weekend in Cambridge, Mass.
