MASSENA — The New York Power Authority will continue its “Free Friday Matinees” in February with showings of contemporary movies at the admission-free Frank S. McCullough Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch at the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Hydroelectric Power Plant. NYPA will show a selection of movies in the visitors center auditorium every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be available.

The visitors center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

It will be closed on Monday in honor of Presidents Day. From Feb. 18 through Feb. 21, NYPA will be sponsoring free family films at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to coincide with school winter break; that schedule will be announced shortly.

Besides enjoying the movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such subjects as water power and the St. Lawrence-FDR power project. For more information, call the visitors center at 764-0226 ext. 302 or visit NYPA’s website at
