WEST CARTHAGE — Route 26 has been reopened to traffic. A section of the highway, aka Broad Street, between Bridge Street and Route 126 had to be closed again this morning for three hours due to a trailer house fire that had rekindled.

Several pets died in the fire Tuesday that started about 9 a.m. that morning. Firefighters from Carthage, West Carthage and Natural Bridge responded to extinguish the blaze at the trailer, 31 N. Broad St./Route 26, West Carthage, which is owned by Michael Curran.
