WEST CARTHAGE – Betty F. Schack, 69, formerly of Champion Apartments, died Wednesday afternoon, February 12th at the Skilled Nursing Facility of the Carthage Area Hospital.
She was born on February 22, 1944 in Carthage to Herbert and Lula Benson Fuller. She attended school in Carthage. She married David E. Schack on April 8, 1961 at St. James Church Rectory. She owned and operated the Westside Taxi alongside her husband.
She is survived by; 4 daughters, and a son in-law, Karen Astafan, Tina Schack, Carthage; Connie Schack, Carthage; and Holly and her husband Daniel M. Leary, Champion; and a sister, Helen Russell and Ruth Melendez and a brother, Albert Fuller and a sister in law Pat Fuller. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers Arthur and Roy Fuller and a sister, Sheila Lalone.
She loved bowling and participated in many Bowling Tournaments. She also enjoyed singing Karaoke and served as a volunteer driver for Jefferson County.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16th from 4 – 7 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home with The Rev. George F. Maroun, officiating. Spring burial will be held at The New St. James Cemetery / Fairview Cemetery ????, Carthage.
