Watertowns Netto state-bound in four events
CLINTON Michael Netto of Watertown swam state-qualifying times in four events to highlight area competitors at the Section 3 state qualifier for boys swimming Sunday at Hamilton College.
Watertown High School scored 218 points to finish third in the team standings. Liverpool was the top team with 349 points, and Jamesville-DeWitt/Christian Brothers Academy (308) was second.
The state meet is scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 1 at Webster-Schroeder High School in Rochester.
Netto won the 200-yard individual medley and took second in the 100 breaststroke. He swam on Watertowns first-place 200 medley relay and third-place 200 freestyle relay, which clocked a state qualifying time.
Brad McKinney and Neal Ruparelia contributed to both state-bound relays, while Jacob Roux and Jacob Catalina each swam a leg on one relay.
