Engines will be focus of Antique Boat Museum 2014 Symposium

CLAYTON — The Antique Boat Museum has announced details of the 2014 symposium it will host jointly with the Antique & Classic Boat Society on the weekend of May 2 .

“Symposium 2014: Start Your Engines” will start weekend activities at the museum for the beginning of the summer season. Symposium 2014 will focus mainly on engines, covering all types including inboards, outboards and diesel.

Sessions will be taught by experts in motor maintenance and include hands-on demonstrations as well as instruction on how to restore and maintain a marine engine. Instructors include: Peter Hunn, author of “The Classic Outboard Motor Handbook,” Peter Leubner, Navy Point Marine service manager, Tony Mollica, well-known boating and Thousand Islands author and historian, Dave Van Ness, owner of Van Ness Engineering, and Hans Wahl, owner of French Creek Marina.
