Lyons Falls man accused of sexually abusing girl

LOWVILLE—A Lyons Falls man was sent to the Lewis County jail Thursday after state police said he had been sexually abusing a young girl for more than three years.

William J. Dolan Jr., 36, of 4534 River Road, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Thursday on Route 26 on multiple sex offenses.

Police said he began having sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl in 2008 at a Cherry Street residence in Lyons Falls. The abuse allegedly continued at the residence until the girl reached age 14.

He was charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a class D felony, and second-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Village Court before Justice Patricia H. Yarina and sent to the jail on $10,000 cash bail.

Child Protective Services of Lewis County assisted with the investigation.
