MALONE A fight between two inmates at Franklin Correctional Facility ended with several corrections officers being injured Monday.
About 8 a.m., the two officers attempted to break up a fight between inmates Bobby Perry, 34, and William Marcano, 23, according to a release from the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association.
When the officers attempted to separate the two inmates, Mr. Perry punched one of them just below the left eye and the other in the chest and again in the hand with a metal pan after Mr. Perry started striking Mr. Marcano with it, the release said.
A sergeant finally forced Mr. Perry to the floor and handcuffed him, bringing the fight to an end. Both inmates were admitted to a special housing unit. The injured officers were treated at the prison hospital and sent to Alice Hyde Medical Center, where they were treated for swelling, scrapes and bruises and released.
