AWKESASNE – Mr. Jacob Lawrence Stehlin “Bubz”, 22, of 149 Helena Road, tragically and unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home.

“Bubz”, as he was affectionately known, was born July 4, 1991 in Malone, the son of Keith N. Terrance and Dale B. Stehlin. He attended Salmon River Central School and once worked at Salerno Industries in Plattsburgh for a short time.

Jacob was a member of the Mohawk Assembly of God and enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and playing video games. In addition, Bubz had a love for tattoos, pets – especially his beloved cats, Oreo and Snickers; but most of all he had a great passion for trains.

He is survived by his parents, Dale B. Stehlin and Keith N. Terrance, both of Akwesasne; his sister, Chastity Anne Stehlin and her companion, Justin Planty of Massena; his maternal grandmother, Mary Ella Stehlin of Akwesasne; his paternal grandmother, Joyce Terrance of Akwesasne; his godmother, Debbie Benedict of New Mexico; and his godfather, Wayne Stehlin of Akwesasne. Jacob is also survived by his fiancÚ, Alyssa Laneuville of Massena; many aunts, uncles, and cousins especially, Dayton and Tony Thomas and Richard Stehlin – who were like brothers to him; and a very good buddy, Michael Fowler, currently serving in the US Navy.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Louis E. Stehlin on February 28, 1988 and his paternal grandfather, Raymond David Terrance on August 7, 1983.

Friends may call at Kateri Hall, beginning Saturday 4:00 PM until Monday 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at Mohawk Assembly of God with Pastor Art Brandt, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Mohawk Assembly of God Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider your local Animal Shelter or the Wounded Warrior Project.

Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where memories and condolences may be shared online at www.donaldsonfh.com.
