City man charged with felony criminal contempt, harassment

City police early Friday responded to the scene of a domestic incident and arrested a man after he allegedly threw a glass of water at a woman and violated an order of protection.

Raymond E. Cooley Jr., 28, of 200 William St., Apt. D5, was arrested at 2:59 a.m. at the residence he shared with Sarah J. Miles.

Police said he threw a glass of water at Ms. Miles during a domestic disturbance at the residence that night.

The alleged harassment violated an order of protection out of Watertown Town Court valid until October protecting Ms. Miles from Mr. Cooley.

He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, and second-degree harassment. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held without bail pending arraignment in City Court.
