Moore set to resign as Parishville Town Supervisor

PARISHVILLE - After two terms and eight years as Town Supervisor in Parishville, Jerry G. Moore will be resigning from the post, effective on Friday.

Mr. Moore, who was absent from Tuesday morning’s regular board meeting, recently received a promotion for his job with Loomis Fargo Armored Car, which will require him to work out of Syracuse multiple days per week.

The announcement was made by Deputy Supervisor Shirley Robinson on Tuesday.

“Jerry has resigned, effective as of the 28th of February. So we will be replacing him and appointing a new (supervisor.) We’ll have to do that after the 28th,” Ms. Robinson said. “(The promotion) is for a very good administrative position but he has to work in Syracuse four days a week. He just couldn’t do it. He just didn’t have the time. So he put in his resignation.”

The town board will be holding a special meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. to appoint a new town supervisor.
