Jonathan P. Simpson, 23, of 1217 Faichney Drive, Apt. 6, was arrested by city police after allegedly being spotted in a vehicle with a woman who has an active order of protection against him.

Police said Mr. Simpson was stopped in a 2007 Volkswagen at 11:54 a.m. Monday on a headlight violation, as well as third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

According to police, Marie D. Simpson, same address, was the front seat passenger in the vehicle. Ms. Simpson’s order of protection against Mr. Simpson was issued by City Court in October.

Due to a previous conviction of second-degree criminal contempt in October, Mr. Simpson was charged in the first degree, a class E felony.

He was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration after he allegedly refused to be fingerprinted while being processed on the other charges. He was arrested at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on $250 police bail pending arraignment in City Court.
