Joan A. Morris


Watertown- Joan A. Morris, Haney Street, passed away in the Samaritan Medical Center I.C.U. February 23, 2014, following a brief illness. She was 69 years old.

The funeral mass will be at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, February 28th, 11:00am, Father Jonas Tondayu officiating. A prayer service will precede the mass at the funeral home at 10:15am. Calling hours will be 4pm - 7pm Thursday, February 27th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Spring burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Brookside Cemetery.

Joan was born in Watertown on January 10th, 1945, a daughter to Francis and Thelma Robbins Luffman. She was educated locally. She worked for many years at Hill’s department store and TJ Maxx. She also worked as a dishwasher at the Clubhouse restaurant.

On April 23, 1966 she married John Morris at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, New York. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, and walking.

Surviving besides her husband, John, are her children: Connie Morris, Potsdam; Tonya (Billy) Klock, Watertown; John Morris and companion Theresa Smith, Watertown; Mark (Julie) Morris, Harrisville; 8 grandchildren: John, Breanna, Tara-Lyn, Jessica, Billy Jr., Jocelyn, Isaiah, Gavin; a great-grandson: Colton Ames; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey; 2 brothers: Jerry and Norm Luffman; a sister: Sandy Bruno; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joan is predeceased by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Luffman.
