MADRID: Joseph Alder Tasetano 85, Smith Corners Road, slipped his earthly moorings and sailed into eternal life on Friday Feb. 21, 2014 Born Feb. 8,1929 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Col. Joseph and Mary Tasetano who predeceased him. Moving to Vermont in 1941 he graduated from Burlington High School in 1947. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. WASP CVA 18. Upon discharge from the Navy he enrolled in Johnson State Teachers College. After graduation he taught for some years in Vermont Schools. In 1961 he married the love of his life Florence Raymond moving to Lisbon, NY. They taught for many years in the Lisbon School system until retirement. He is survived by a brother Paul and his wife Claudia Tasetano of Vergennes, VT., nephews Michael of Savannah, GA. and Paul of Barre, VT., nieces Andrea of Princeton, KS and Gina Bopp of Beacon, NY, a sister in -law Joyce of Williston, VT, special friends Kate Lawrence of Madrid, NY, Richard and Michelle Barkley of Madrid, NY and Richard and Judy Hebert of Waddington who did layman’s work taking him to doctors and hospital appointments when needed. Thank you all so much. He was predeceased by his wife Florence and a brother Louis of Williston, VT. There will be not calling hours and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
