Mr. Elmer Benjamin Erwin, age 90, of Little River, SC, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Summit Place.

Born October 6, 1923 in East Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late Clarence and Wilhelmina Bachoven Erwin.

An avid golfer, after his retirement from the New York State Department of Conservation as a forester Mr. Erwin moved to South Carolina to be nearer places to play the game he enjoyed. He was also a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his daughters, Constance E. Faucher and her husband, Donald, of Little River, SC and Jane DeBeer and her husband, Thomas, of Woodstock, GA; a son, Douglas G. Erwin of Meansville, GA; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Phyllis Grant Erwin; a sister, Jennette Joslin; and a brother, John Erwin.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Canton, NY at a later date.
