Jon Rosales will discuss “climate refugees” as part of the SUNY Canton spring Sustainability Lecture Series at 6 p.m. today in Nevaldine North, Room 102. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Rosales’ research focuses on the impacts of climate change on native populations in Alaska, and he will provide several case studies that illustrate how people are being displaced because of environmental factors.

Mr. Rosales is an associate professor of environmental studies at St. Lawrence University, Canton. He addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations on Earth Day 2013 and speaks regularly at the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The Sustainability Lecture Series will continue with other environmental experts throughout the spring. For additional information, visit www.canton.edu/sustainabil ity/lecture.html.
