Convergys Corp., a global customer-management services provider, announced Tuesday it has completed its acquisition of Stream Global Services.
Streams Watertown call center off Arsenal Street now will be operated under the Convergys brand as a result of the $820 million deal, which was announced in January. About a year ago, Stream announced a $4.2 million expansion plan to accommodate up to 300 more employees and the addition of a major customer contract in Watertown, but no changes to that plan are anticipated. The Cincinnati-based Convergys has yet to announce whether there will be any staffing changes at the call center, which has about 700 employees.
A company news release Tuesday said the addition of Stream, which had about 40,000 employees, expanded its staff to about 125,000. The company has 150 locations across 31 countries.
We are excited to welcome Stream to Convergys, Andrea Ayers, president and CEO of Convergys, said in a statement. We believe our shared focus on exceptional client service, operational expertise and world-class talent will enable us to quickly integrate and leverage our expanded reach for the benefit of clients, employees and shareholders.
