ADAMS—After allegedly waving a metal pipe in the face of another man during an argument about the discipline of a child, Michael S. Thompson, 39, of 16823 Comstock Road, was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

State police said Mr. Thompson and Alan Bartlett, of Pierrepont Manor, were engaged in a physical domestic argument at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, during which Mr. Thompson menaced Mr. Bartlett with the pipe.

He was arrested at 6:30 p.m., arraigned in Ellisburg Town Court and held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, on $1,000 bail.
