Injured parties in LeRay vehicle crash identified

A Watertown woman was in fair condition Thursday night after she and three others were injured when a sedan collided with a pickup truck at Route 37 and Keyser Road in the town of LeRay.

The crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the white Ford Taurus, identified as 26-year-old Andrea N. Aimonetti, of 120 Elm St., and her passenger, Nichole McDaniel, 25, of 720 Stonewood Drive, Philadelphia, were trapped in the crushed vehicle and required extrication. Ms. Aimonetti was flown to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, via LifeNet helicopter. State police said Thursday that her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Ms. McDaniel was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center, treated and released.

Police said Ms. Aimonetti was driving east on Keyser Road when she ran a stop sign and collided with a pickup driven by Ronald E. Hanson, 42, of 14038 Military Road, Sackets Harbor, who was southbound on Route 37. Initial reports indicated that only one person, later identified as Connie Hanson, 14, same address, was injured, but police said Thursday that a 2-year-old girl, whose name was not released, also was injured in the wreck. Both children were taken to Samaritan Medical Center and later released. Mr. Hanson was not injured.

A dog in Ms. Aimonetti’s vehicle was injured, but Jefferson County Dog Control said Thursday afternoon that the dog was doing well and had been returned to its owner.

The crash is still under investigation and no tickets have yet been issued.
