DANBURY, Conn. — The Danbury Whalers used a six-goal second period as they sent the Watertown Privateers to their worst loss of the season with a 9-0 Federal Hockey League win on Saturday night at the Danbury Ice Arena.

Ryan Patsch scored two goals and two assists, while Cody Ayers supplied five points, including four assists, for Danbury (30-17). Mike Brown stopped 37 shots to earn his second shutout of the season, which he also earned against the Privateers after a 35-save effort on Nov. 2.

The Privateers (17-29), who allowed a season high in goals, were shut out for the third time this season.

The Privateers will host the Dayton Demonz at 5:05 p.m. today at the Watertown Municipal Ice Arena. Watertown then plays three straight on the road starting Thursday at Dayton.
