LOWVILLE The Lewis County Department of Social Services employment and training office invites representatives of small and large businesses alike to learn more about its offerings.
A workshop for employers is set from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce office at 7567 S. State St.
Coffee and doughnuts will be available. Preregistration is not necessary.
The workshop will include a description of the Transitional Employment Advancement Program, a program of the state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance that provides funding to employers to encourage them to hire those receiving cash assistance to reduce their need for public aid. Information also will be provided on other incentives, including the wage reimbursement credit for employers, the hire-a-vet program and the summer youth employment program.
